I spent 3 months in Bali, living with locals in the Ubud village of Tarukan SLV.Global provides psychology students and graduates the opportunity to gain valuable psychology work experience in Sri Lanka, India and Bali, Indonesia. Equipped with experience and optimism, these intrepid adventurers joined forces with two incredibly insightful and dedicated Sri Lankan youth workers Mr Neil & Yasintha and together they founded SLV.Global and our Mental Health Placements were born. Recently we've extended our reach to include Bali. Shanice Morris is a psychology graduate and counsellor-in-training, born and raised in East London. She is experienced in retail as a sales associate, as a barista, and a team leader. Shanice volunteered for SLV.Global in both Sri Lanka and Bali and worked as a Gateway Assessor for Citizen's Advice. SLV Global Bali (July 2018) My time in Bali was the most insightful and interesting adventure I have had in my life so far. I experienced such an incredible and unique culture, as well as learning from my time working with autistic children, schizophrenic adults, Geriatrics, patients of a Balinese psychiatric hospital and others with a range of mental health and psychical issues.

As it is a placement of mental health work, all volunteers have or are completing a mental health related qualification, and all the sessions are backed up with research and theories. All I can say is that SLV. Global is probably one of the most incredible companies that I have volunteered with.
